AKA: 'Ponder', Ponderosa DOB: August 26, 2008 Breed: Irish Wolfhound
Ok so he doesn't quite fit the "sport dog prospect" profile that is typical around here but this boy has been a loooong time coming. The Irish Wolfhound breed is one that I have admired and dreamed about having for as long as I can remember. Timing just never seemed to be right for adding one of these incredible dogs to the household. 'Ponder' is from Donna Tomson of Castlekeep IW's in Hagersville, Ontario. He from the third generation of raw fed dogs from Donna's kennel. I have been in contact with Donna for several years now and always knew I would one day get a pup from her. A naturally reared pup of this breed was especially important to find for me because I KNOW it gives them a better chance at a longer, healthier life...an advantage that the breed could use due to their shorter life span compared to most breeds. Ponder is a very special boy and although his main purpose in life is to be a companion and couch potato I do look forward to the challenge of training him for Obedience, Agility, and Flyball.
